Best Weapons in Tears of the Kingdom (2024)

Hi ! Back for what is probably my last post here, since I kinda retired from datamining the game months ago. Today I'll try to statistically rank all weapons from Tears of the Kingdom (not shields or bows since those usually are way easier to rank) !

WARNING : I'm going to use the true values for the damage statistic of two handed and spears. For more detail check this post.

All the data I will be covering can be found in this post.

Now you might ask, what are the criteria for the rankings ? I'll be honest right off the bat, I used a subjective choice of criterias to rank all these weapons. Basically I used a set of 9 statistics, gave each weapon a grade between 0 and 100 (depending on how well they compare to the best weapon in that statistic) and just made the sum of the grade of the 9 statistics. The statistics are :

  • Base damage (x2 weight) : How much damage the weapon does raw
  • Base durability (x2 weight) : How much hits it take for a weapon to break, without Fuse
  • Fuse durability (x3 weight) : How much hits it take for a weapon to break, with Fuse. This is more important than base durability because you're assumed to use Fuse a lot, even more with your best weapons.
  • Fuse max damage (x2 weight) : How much damage the weapon does assuming it's fused with the best material for it. Does not considerate any buff like Water Warrior or Bone Atk Up.
  • Max conditional damage (x2 weight) : How much damage the weapon does assuming all the conditions for it to get max damage is met, including fuse.
  • Max total damage (x3 weight) : How much damage the weapon deals during its lifetime (fused) including fuse buffs but not conditional damage. Also counts the 1 durability critical.
  • Max conditional damage (x4 weight) : The most important statistic to my eyes. How much damage the weapon deals during its lifetime, assuming it was always used when it could deal the most damage (for example, Knight gear when you were at 1 heart or less, Royal gear during Flurry Rushes, Zora gear when it was raining).
  • Max DPS (x3 weight) : The estimated max DPS of the weapon, including fuse buffs but not conditional damage. Not counting charged attacks.
  • Max conditional DPS (x4 weight) : Also an important statistic, because doing a lot of damage during your lifetime is cool, but the ability to deal good amount of damage fast is also important. Estimated max DPS of the weapon, assuming it was always used when it could deal the most damage.

Lastly, I actually made two versions of the rankings, one including +10 attack modifiers on weapons that could have it, one not including them. I decided to take the ranking including +10 attack modifiers for this post, but the other one is in the spreadsheet linked at the start of this post.

2nd : Royal Broadsword✨ (67.64%)

The only P tier weapon, with a > 13% lead on the 2nd weapon is...

1st : Scimitar of the Seven (80.86%)

So yeah, based on the criterias I used, Scimitar of the Seven is the best weapon in the game. And... It makes sense to me. This weapon is overpowered. Being able to double the fuse damage, while still gaining 25 durability from fusing is insane, even more when you know it's already 60 durability (highest for one handed weapon). It basically outclasses every single weapon except for Royal Broadsword✨ in flurry rush and Royal Guard's Claymore✨ on Lynels. Although, if you disagree with something in the ranking please let me know ! I'm up to debate, and can even change my weights on statistics on your demand if I find it interesting enough. This was likely my last post here. See you !

I made a tierlist to better see visually (ordered).
